I’m sure many of you have seen the trend of “wine in a can”, but did you know Denver’s very own Infinite Monkey Theorem were pioneers of this trend? Since their inception in 2008, I.M.T was one the first wineries in the country to offer wine in an eight-ounce can, appealing to the outdoor and recreational habits Coloradan’s share.

Fast forward to today and I.M.T has two locations. The Denver location in the RiNo arts district (3200 Larimer St), and the other in Austin, Texas (702 Shady Lane.) If you haven’t tried I.M.T. yet, they have a delicious lineup of whites, reds, roses and bubbles of course. Offering’s come in traditional bottles and the adventure-ready to-go cans.

The company has traversed some ups and downs since 2008. Last summer, the leadership changed when Nicki McTague was promoted within to President and CEO. Since starting her new role, Nicki has made it a mission to have I.M.T. more accurately represent women and empower them within the wine industry, and better understand their customer’s needs and desires.

“What we’ve really struggled with, in the past, is that we’ve had really dominating male figures behind wine. We have all these men leading companies and telling us how things should be marketed,” she said to 303 Magazine last summer.

Since Nicki’s takeover as CEO the winery is now majority women-owned, and its staff is 80% female.

For those in Denver area you must make your way to their RiNo taproom. The space is open, airy and their former produce garden has been transformed into a beautiful flower garden. In addition, customers can reserve a time to cut flowers for their own bouquet! It is a hidden gem location to spend an afternoon with friends and family.
